GOLD 7!!

I am officially a member of the GOLD 7 Team!! So Friday night the way we discovered our teams was... We each got an envelope with a piece of colored paper in it and we had to go and find the rest of the people with that color paper. We all then found out Units which mine was the Gold Unit. After that we did some fun activities and then we got another envelope with a clue on where our Team leader was at. Our first clue was go to Van 1206. So after we found the van we all got another clue which was something like you will find your team leader at the highest point of building 947 enjoying some mac and Cheese... which was to go to the third floor kitchen in building 947. So once we got up there we found our team leader Tara and we all enjoyed some pizza as a team! Later that night we went to a frozen Yogurt place and got frozen yogurt paid for by AmeriCorps. I'm excited to get to know the members of my team better!

Yesterday we had a full day of training.... We were trained in Service Learning, Unit training and Projects Training 2.... after all the training We as a Gold unit went downtown Sacramento and had a scavenger Hunt which was fun! We had to take pictures of us posing just like any statue that we saw and we had to go to the Capital and Cesar Chavez park, Along with going to old Sac which was so neat! I'll post a few pictures from the Scavenger hunt below. But as for today It is our first day off... So I slept in till 7:30am YES!!! and then got breakfast at 9am cause the kitchen didn't open till then and now I'm just waiting till 1pm when the Gold Unit is going to go to the American River and play frisbee and cards and what not! It should be a good time!
